Ghana's Newly Discovered Oil Industry and Building of Refinery (Injection of Oil and Gas) Oil in Ghana was discovered in 2007 during ex- President John Agyekum Kufour's term in office in the Jubilee fields. A refinery was built where the oil was discovered, thus creating an oil industry which was completed and ready for usage to tap the oil, convert it to gas, and fully tap the gas. This occurred in December of 2010 during the late John Evans Atta Mills' term in office as President.
